2013
My husband and I used the services of Raj Nepal.com in November 2013 and I would recommend them for guiding in the Everest Base Camp region. Our guide was Hari Nepal and our porter was Narayan . Both were very personable. Hari has great English skills and is extremely knowledgeable about the mountains, religions, cultures and was clearly a regular guide on this route — the lodge owners knew him and we would run into other guides & porters along the way who also knew him. We were happy with the tea houses & rooms that Hari arranged for us. He also helped us navigate things like money exchanging. Hari definitely enriched our first experience in Nepal. The trek itself was fantastic and epic.
We started in Jiri, which I’d recommend if you can manage the extra time. It is a challenging hike when you take into account the number of ascent/descents, cold temperatures up high, and altitude, but absolutely worth the effort! Just a couple of things to suggest as you plan your trip.
First, plan some extra money into your budget to cover additional food — our package included a basic Nepali breakfast, lunch, dinner. It was Great. If you just make sure to bring enough rupees on the trek to cover . Also, I highly recommend bringing along all the energy bars/trail snacks you need from home -healthy snacks like Clif bars, GU, Gatorade, and fruit-nut trail mix are not available at all along the trail.
All you can buy for snacks is candy bars and potato chips. Second, we opted to upgrade our Kathmandu hotel on the return from EBC , Raj Nepal helped us book a room at the Kathmandu Radisson Hotel (pretty close to Thamel) and it was a really nice treat at the end of our epic journey to see Mount Everest! Last but not least, we upgraded from the public bus from Kathmandu to Jiri to a private car and, based on conversations with others who took the bus, I think we made the right decision!
2013
In October 2013 my friend and I hired Raj and his company to lead us on our trek to Poon Hill (Annapurna region). We had a great experience. Raj was extremely responsive from day one. We Skyped (from the States to Nepal) while I was in my research phase. He answered all our questions and we hired him. He graciously met each of us separately at the airport in Kathmandu and took us to our hotel. We had in-person meetings once we arrived to sort out all remaining details.
Raj also organized a side trip to Tibet, including visas. Our last day in Kathmandu, Raj had us over to his house for a delicious lunch prepared by his family. He was thorough and professional., plus his prices were affordable. Unlike many Nepalese, Raj understood our American needs and desires to have trip details and expectations clearly communicated. I would recommend Raj, who was recommended to us by an Indian friend.

Hi,
My brother and I had our first trek to Nepal earlier this year. Hari from Raj Nepal.com were recommended to us and we were not disappointed for one second.
We were met at the airport by Raj, who showed us around Kathmandu. We then left for Upper Mustang via Pokhara and Jomson with Hari and Gonesh (our porter). Nothing was too much trouble for either of them. Hari handled all unexpected changes (cancelled flights, for example) without fuss and keeping us advised of what was happening. The pace was set by how frequently we stopped to take photos and we never felt rushed or left to catch up. Our safety and well being were there priority.
If you are looking for a company were you get excellent service, personal attention, no hidden costs and surprises, then look no further than Raj & Hari.

You will be hard pressed to find a more attentive, professional, responsive, and friendly company to handle trekking and touring needs. From the moment we selected Raj to help us with our time in Nepal, he kept in constant contact with us, getting us ready for the trip. His personal attention extended to my arrival and travel around Katmandu and then later into the mountains. At all times, your personal well being is something he takes very seriously. Further, his flexibility in making changes to plans due to unforeseen events is never a big deal and he does it with the same professional and dedicated manner that pervades not only his demeanor but also that of his guides and his porters. Highly recommend.
